Now that I’m all settled back in Phoenix, and it’s been 11 weeks since I’ve finished school, it’s time for me to stop slacking off and start banging out certifications again.
This is the list of certifications I plan to finish by the end of this year, or at least the first month or two of 2011:
MCITP – Enterprise Administrator
MCITP – Server Administrator
MCITP – Enterprise Desktop Administrator 7
MCITP – Database Administrator 2008
MCITP – Enterprise Messaging Administrator 2010
Once I get those done I’ll put some thought into deciding if I would like to pursue a PMP, or perhaps one of the Cisco certifications. I’m a big fan of Exchange 2010, so the one I’m most excited about getting to is the Messaging Administrator.
So, my first step in passing the 11 tests it will take to get these 5 certifications was to buy a study guide for Microsoft’s test 70-640, “Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuring”. Amazon had the Exam Cram book for $30, but they had the Kindle edition for $17.59. I’ve never studied from an e-book before, but I’m going to give it a try with this test. The only negative I see so far about studying from my Kindle as opposed to reading from it is it a lot more trouble to take notes.
Next post – what I like,and don’t like about the Kindle…
